Learning Arabic where it lives
Lughat al-Arab is an Arabic language institute based in Amman, Jordan. We teach Arabic the way it is actually used: with real teachers, in real conversation, surrounded by the culture that shaped the language.
Our home is a traditional Arab house in Jabal al-Lweibdeh, one of Amman’s most characterful neighbourhoods. Students study here in small groups, and the city around the classroom becomes part of the lesson.
Study the way that suits you
You can join us in Jordan for face-to-face courses, or learn from anywhere through live online classes. Whichever you choose, every student starts with a level assessment, so you begin in the right place and move forward at the right pace. Our programmes run from Preparatory to Distinguished and teach Fusha, the standard Arabic of literature, education and the media, along with Arabic for specific purposes and university preparation.
More than a language school
Language is easier to learn when you live it. That is why we also offer packages that combine study with accommodation, transport and cultural trips, from Amman’s old quarters to Petra and Wadi Rum. For many students, the trips and the daily life in Jordan become the most memorable part of learning Arabic.
Who we welcome
There is no age limit. Students under 18 join with parental consent, and registration is open all year. We also work with schools, universities and foundations that want to bring their students to Jordan.
